Damaged Books
When a book is returned in a damaged condition beyond repair, the cost of replacement will be assessed. Damage to library materials encompasses, but is not limited to, the following: spills from food, beverages, or other substances; damage to the cover or spine; cutting or tearing of pages; and writing with pencils, pens, markers, etc.
Lost Books
After a book is overdue by 30 days, the system designates it as "lost," and students will incur a charge for the book's replacement cost. If the book is subsequently found and returned in good condition, the fee will be waived.
Should a student have already paid for the book but then finds and returns it in good condition within the same school year, a refund will be issued.
Payments the replacement cost of damaged or lost books can be made using cash or personal checks. Please ensure that personal checks are made out to Wessendorff Middle School Library.
Returning Books
All library books may be returned directly inside the library or on the library book cart outside the library doors. It is the student’s responsibility to return the books on or before the due date: please return to the book cart outside library doors between class periods when the library is closed.
