Mustang Message

The energy on our campus is high, our students are engaged, and we are proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together.

📚 Attendance Awareness Month Success
September was an incredible month as we celebrated Attendance Awareness Month.

As part of our attendance incentive, 144 students earned the chance to throw water balloons at the principals!

🌟 Locked In for Learning-Everyday, Everyway
We are now well into the second six weeks, and our students are demonstrating what it means to be locked in for learning. Across classrooms, we see students engaged in instruction, taking ownership of their work, collaborating with peers, and celebrating their accomplishments.

Parents can support student success by monitoring grades regularly through Skyward Parent Access and communicating with teachers whenever assistance is needed.

Morning tutorials are available daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for students who need additional support or enrichment.

🐎 Mustang Pride Every Day
October is Bullying Prevention Month, and at Wessendorff Middle School, we are committed to fostering a school culture where every student feels safe, valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. We expect our Mustangs to demonstrate respect, kindness, responsibility, and integrity each day while taking pride in themselves, their peers, and their school community.

Parents play a vital role in reinforcing these expectations at home. We encourage families to have ongoing conversations about treating others with kindness, resolving conflicts appropriately, and speaking up when concerns arise.

Any student who engages in bullying, harassment, or other inappropriate behavior will receive disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

We also encourage our students to remember: See Something, Say Something. If something happens that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe, they should report it to a trusted adult immediately. At WMS, every staff member shares the responsibility of supporting our Mustangs, responding to concerns, and ensuring students receive the help they need. Together, we can create a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make Wessendorff a place where every student can succeed.

🔒 Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility 🔒

At Wessendorff Middle School, the safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority. As part of our campus safety protocols, students are not permitted to open any exterior or classroom door for any reason. This expectation has been reviewed with all students and will continue to be reinforced throughout the school year.

We ask our families to partner with us by discussing this important safety expectation at home. While students may be trying to help a friend or classmate, opening a secured door compromises the safety measures in place to protect everyone on our campus.

Please be aware that students who open any exterior or classroom door without authorization are subject to disciplinary action.

Together, by following established safety procedures and reinforcing expectations at home and at school, we can ensure a safe learning environment for all. Thank you for your partnership and commitment to keeping our Mustang community safe.

Tardy Policy

At Wessendorff Middle School, being on time is a high expectation and an important part of student success. Students have 4 minutes to transition between classes throughout the school day, and they are expected to use that time responsibly to arrive at their next class on time and ready to learn.

Frequent tardies can disrupt learning, impact instructional time, and create unnecessary interruptions for both students and teachers. We ask that you reinforce the importance of punctuality with your student and encourage them to move directly to their next class during each transition.

To ensure the safety and supervision of all students, please be reminded that our school doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Students who are dropped off before 8:30 a.m. are unsupervised, as staff members are not yet on duty. Leaving students unattended prior to staff arrival creates a significant safety concern.

We ask that all families plan ahead and schedule morning drop-off for 8:30 a.m. or later. Your partnership in following these procedures helps us provide a safe and secure environment for every Mustang.
